Functional Programming for Java Developers has the noble goal of introducing ideas from functional programming to developers who are familiar with Java. In my opinion, functional programming will be the dominant programming paradigm within 10 years and this book presents an brief intorduction to the world of functional programming, however, there is some ugliness in trying to program functionally in a language like java, that doesn't treat functions as first class citizens. The focus of this book is to provided some great examples of how to use Functional Programming and to get you excited about expanding your knowledge by looking into many of the references that are included at the end of the book. Dean did a great job providing examples throughout the book related to the topic of each chapter.
